Jacks are usually found in clusters. But occasionally you find a stray one. They typically hang out in deep-pile rugs. And really, there’s only one way to find one. You have a 4 in 6 chance of finding it in a really painful way and a 2 in 6 chance of finding it in an incredibly painful way.
For this carpet, I tried to show some different directions in the weft. I copied the whole thing and then flipped it horizontally. Then I erased occasional bits of it to get that pattern.
